Added Features

Desktop

  1. Client support for new FIPS compliant Wickr crypto library.
  2. Windows users can now choose their application data path during installation, such as cloud storage, USB drives, or shared network drives.
  3. Windows installation now defaults to install without requiring administrator privileges.
  4. For new SSO/Active Directory (ADFS) users, we’ve switched the Master Recovery Key to a string instead of a QR Code to accommodate users without a computer camera.
  5. SSO users can now log out of all of their devices simultaneously
  6. Beta support for federation with Wickr Me users (messaging only).
  7. The entire name box is now clickable for the add members list.
  8. Modified key rotation to expire skipped keys after 7 days.

Android

  1. Introducing “Audio Only” calling for use in low bandwidth situations. This will prevent other caller’s video and screen share from streaming to your device, improving call performance in low bandwidth situations. You can find this toggle under Settings > Connectivity.

Known Issues

All Platforms and/orBackend

  1. v2 Admin doesn’t force admin users to change default password.
  2. If a user has an iOS device running 5.56.19 and a Linux device running 5.56.17 and both are online then the user cannot receive calls on the Linux device.
  3. /status and /report do not work on the broadcast bot when using a file with a list of users.
  4. Some reports for UI/UX inconsistencies while using the Windows app, such as showing background windows.
  5. Known crash on iOS when a user attempts to log out from SSO with no network connection, then regain network connectivity and attempts to log out again.
  6. Federation options are not available in admin v2
  7. In admin v2, switching an existing user to a new network may fail (note this appears to only affects existing usernames which are not email addresses)

Client Upgrade Notes

1. Due to recent changes to meet FIPS certification, 5.60.x clients have compatibility issues with previous back end infrastructures, most notably that calling does not work.
